Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Usually the same question: can you get free trades or lower spreads?
No. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code has no impact on spreads.
The code 128979 activates the bonus program. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Nothing more complicated than that.
Bonus amounts?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.
Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.
Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. That's for serious capital.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
Account minimum is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
Finding the partner code field
During registration. After you enter your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Contact support before funding. Ask them to add code 128979. They do this manually all the time.
The bonus has conditions
There's a volume requirement.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
Your deposit is yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.
Something useful to understand: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. Allows for slightly larger trades. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
